I found that STU has a retention rate of 68% for full time students and 50% for part time students. I searched other universities in Miami for comparison. FIU rates of retention are at 83.5%. University of Miami has a retention rate of 89.2%. I plan on analyzing the methodology of tutoring in university writing centers. Does the use of Spanish in the university writing center aid in retention in Hispanic serving institutions?

Very informative (I already knew this though). Anyway, the percentages that you gave about STU are from what year? Has their percentage increased or decreased throughout the years? Try to get a well - rounded information when giving specific percentages about serious information.

ReplyDeleteI think that finding out the impact of incorporating a spoken second language like Spanish in the writing center is a great idea I did not think about. I like it - it would make sense. Do these other colleges you speak of have that option?
ReplyDeleteWell, I plan to find out about their methodology and see if they do speak another language. However, I would first need to set up a meeting. I am still in the process of coming up with some questions.
